What are the functions of AC contactors?

2023-09-20

The function of the AC contactor is: as an actuator, used to connect and break lines, or frequently control the operation of equipment such as motors.

AC contactor is an intermediate control component. Its advantage is that it can frequently connect and disconnect lines. It generally controls large current or voltage with small current or small voltage. Working with a thermal relay can provide certain overload protection for load equipment.

Working principle of AC contactor:

1. When the coil is energized, the static iron core generates electromagnetic attraction, which pulls the moving iron core together. Since the contact system is linked to the moving iron core, the moving iron core drives the three moving contacts to run at the same time, and the contacts are closed, thus Turn on the power.

2. When the coil is powered off, the suction force disappears, and the linkage part of the moving iron core is separated by the reaction force of the spring, causing the main contact to disconnect and cutting off the power supply.
